Traffic control devices installed with a safety-system mindset

Traffic Control can look simple from the driver’s seat, but effective traffic control devices take planning, clean execution, and steady follow-through. On our jobs, every marking and sign is treated as part of the work zone safety system, installed with the same discipline we bring to erosion control. When traffic stays predictable, crews and the traveling public are better protected, and the ground around the work zone is less likely to get torn up. That helps keep shoulders from rutting, slopes from getting disturbed, and sediment from moving during rain events.

Clear guidance that supports phasing and work limits

Our Traffic Control scope includes Striping, Signage, Thermoplastic, and Rumble Strips. Each piece plays a specific role in keeping drivers aligned through lane shifts, work-zone transitions, and higher-risk areas so the site stays organized and safer to work in. That organization also supports erosion control measures already in place. Fewer last-second moves means fewer vehicles cutting corners into soft shoulders, tracking mud, or disturbing newly stabilized areas. We coordinate with the project team so what’s installed matches the plan set, the current phase, and what drivers will actually see in that shift.

Field checks, inspection readiness, and clean records

Before installation, we verify the layout in the field and confirm what the site is telling us—sight distance, drainage patterns, existing markings, and nearby work limits. We keep inspections in mind from the start by documenting what was installed, where it went, and when it was placed. That helps prime contractors and inspectors confirm progress without guesswork, especially when traffic control needs to evolve as grading, paving, and erosion control measures advance. When field conditions require adjustments, we communicate early, align with the project team, and keep the record clear so inspection conversations stay straightforward.

Sequencing that respects weather, surfaces, and cure times

Timing matters in Traffic Control, and we set expectations up front. Weather, surface condition, and cure times affect when Striping and Thermoplastic can go down, while Signage and Rumble Strips often need to follow paving, strip-ready surfaces, and specific milestones in the sequence. On many jobs, temporary guidance is needed to carry traffic safely through active phases, then final layouts are installed after final lifts and final grades are complete. We also account for establishment on adjacent areas—if shoulders or slopes are still being stabilized for erosion control, that gets built into the sequence so traffic control supports the work instead of tearing it up. Clear plan sets and phase milestones help keep the schedule realistic and the work zone consistent from one shift to the next.
